Comptonatus: skeletal diagram and some thoughts.

Update July 31, 2024: revised illustration.

Comptonatus chasei is a recently described Iguanodontid Iguanodontian from the Early Cretaceous Wessex Formation on the Isle of Wight, England.

White is preserved bone, gray is reconstructed, mostly based on Mantellisaurus atherfieldensis and Iguanodon bernissartensis

This reconstruction was commissioned by DJ King of the Youtube Channel GeoDuck GeoScience to be used in an upcoming video.

Yes, the weird neural spines around caudals 12 and 13 are real, and presumably pathological, hence the lump, and yes the sharp drop anterior to that is also real.

Thanks to DJ King for the commission and Scott Hartman for helpful comments.
